Sacramental information

  • The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated most Sundays after the 11:00 am Mass. To request a date for your child’s Baptism, please complete the Baptism Request Form.

    To have a Baptism at St. Basil the Great, you will need to:

    1. Be a registered parishioner of the parish. If you are registered elsewhere, permission from your home parish is required. Click here for more information on becoming a member. If you wish to join at St. Basil the Great Parish, please do so prior to scheduling a Baptism.

    2. Complete and submit the Baptismal Request form online

    3. Complete pre-Jordan preparation or provide proof of attendance at another parish. Please contact our Administrative Assistant at hkrieg@sbgparish.org if you are in need of attending a class. 

    4. Select godparents. Catholic Godparents must submit letters of eligibility from their home parishes. Click here to review the Godparent Qualifications and Procedures.

    5. Please be sure to request a date at least 4 weeks in advance.

    GODPARENT SPONSOR FORM

    If you plan to become a godparent and require a sponsor form, please contact the parish office by phone or email.

  • First Reconciliation is completed as part of our PREP program. Children prepare for and receive First Reconciliation in 2nd grade. Children must have completed the 1st grade PREP class. Click here to learn more about our PREP program.

  • At St. Basil the Great Parish, children prepare for and receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion in 2nd grade. Children must have completed the 1st grade PREP class. Click here for more information on our PREP program.

  • Children prepare for and receive the sacrament of Confirmation in 7th grade. Children must have completed grades 1 through 6 PREP classes. Click here for more information on our PREP program.

  • The Church welcomes couples who seek to enter into the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, as a sign of their love for each other and God's love for us. Planning to marry at our parish? Please contact our office at least 6 months before the proposed wedding date to schedule a preparation meeting with our pastor.

    Each couple is required to attend a Pre-Cana Program for Marriage Preparation. The Archdiocese conducts regional programs. Please visit https://phillycatholiclife.org/marriage-prep-classes/ for more information.

  • For parishioners and their family members who wish to receive this sacrament, please notify the parish at 610-933-2110 or contact@sbgparish.org.

    If you or a family member are in need of Holy Communion due to being confined to the home or a hospital, our office can help make arrangements.

    Mass cards for the deceased and the living are available in our parish office.

  • Funeral directors assist with preparations for the Mass of Christian Burial, working with the pastor and parish staff. The family of the deceased takes part in planning the Mass of Christian Burial by choosing readings, lectors, hymns, and other aspects of the funeral rites. Our office staff will contact the family to schedule a meeting regarding these choices. For more information, please click here.

    Please let our office know when a family member has passed so that we may keep them in our prayers.

  • Please contact our office to obtain a copy of your Baptism, First Holy Communion, and/or Confirmation certificates. Certificates may be picked up in our office or they can be mailed to you. Please note that certificates may only be provided for yourself or your child if they are a minor.
